Hylase in Graz – Dissolving Hyaluronic Acid

← Back to treatments

Not every filler result is satisfying – sometimes too much material was placed, an asymmetry has developed, or the face feels heavier than intended. Hyaluronic acid has one major advantage over other materials: it can be dissolved again with the enzyme hyaluronidase.

The enzyme is placed precisely in the affected areas.

Who is this treatment for?

For anyone who is unhappy with a hyaluronic acid result – regardless of where the original treatment was performed. During the consultation we look together at what is actually present and whether full or partial dissolving makes sense.

When is it not suitable?

With known hypersensitivity to hyaluronidase, with acute infections in the treatment area, and during pregnancy and breastfeeding. A known allergy to bee or wasp stings also matters: there is a possible cross-allergy to hyaluronidase, so we clarify this in advance. Important: only hyaluronic acid can be dissolved – other materials such as biostimulators or permanent fillers cannot.

How does the treatment work?

Every treatment begins with a detailed consultation – analysis, an honest assessment and full information. After analysis and consultation the enzyme is injected precisely into the affected areas. Dissolving begins within hours; the final result appears after a few days. Depending on the amount and cross-linking of the original material, a second session may be necessary.

Possible side effects

Swelling, redness and bruising are possible. As the enzyme also breaks down your own hyaluronic acid, the area may temporarily look more hollow – this settles over the following weeks. I explain allergic reactions and further risks personally before every treatment.

Products used

Frequently asked questions

Can any hyaluronic acid be dissolved?

In principle yes, regardless of manufacturer. Strongly cross-linked products sometimes need more enzyme or a second session. Biostimulators and permanent fillers cannot be dissolved.

How quickly does it work?

Dissolving begins within a few hours. Judge the result after about a week, once the swelling has fully settled.

Can I have a new treatment afterwards?

Yes, usually after about two weeks. This gives the tissue time to settle and lets us build on a clear starting point.

I was treated elsewhere – is that a problem?

No. I also treat patients whose original treatment was not performed by me. It helps if you can tell me which product was used – otherwise we proceed carefully, step by step.
